Here we have a nicely finished 3" scale Fowler A7 agricultural traction engine. Not a particularly common model in 3", the 2" scale published design outnumbering by probably a factor of 10 to 1! This engine has seen no use in the last 10 years, having been displayed in the previous owners living room over that period. Prior to that, although she's been run, both mechanically and boiler wise everything seems to be pretty lightly used and still essentially in more or less as built condition.
The boiler is a professionally made and fully certificated Franklin & Bess steel boiler, originally built by them in 2001, and comes with a full boiler history since then and of course fresh tests here at The Steam Workshop to make sure everything is fully re-commissioned and tested before she leaves us.
As with most of our models, what you see isn't necessarily what you get!
We often photograph models pretty much as they come in to us, and then when someone phones to say they are interested we pull the model into our workshops and make sure everything is tested, sorted and ready to go. So if you see the odd model photograph with a fitting missing or a return crank in the wrong place, that's just how it came in and certainly not how it will leave.
